Can I Prevent My Car from Overheating this Summer?

by | May 15, 2020 | Car tips by Brad

Next month marks the beginning of summer and rising temperatures. Servicing your vehicle’s coolant system annually is the best way to prevent your car from overheating in the hot summer months,  and right now is the perfect time to do just that.

Symptoms of overdue coolant system maintenance can include:

·        Rising temperature gauge in the instrument panel

·        Steam coming from under your vehicle’s hood

·        The smell of boiling antifreeze

·        You hear pinging or hissing noises coming from the engine

If any of these symptoms present, turn your car off immediately t let it cool down for a moment and contact a trusted mechanic. Avoid serious burns and do not open the radiator cap while the engine is still hot. DO not attempt to drive a vehicle without a properly functioning coolant system or you will quickly cause irreparable damage.
